Fence Five - Introduction

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Fence Five is a hokey fantasy about two people out to stop a government that wants to create an evil army of genetically engineered vampires. They are Doctor John Sheffield and Amy Brambley, and the organisation is known as Fence Five.

Sheffield is a fun guy to write. He broke his mind, and now he is a vampire lying low in modern day London under the guise of a psychiatrist. When the Fence Five attempt to have him killed, Amy becomes drawn into his story. Meanwhile, another group of vampires is trying to bring about the end of the world, and they need Amy to do it.

The chief villain is called Max, he is a centuries old vampire who has been fitted with a chip by the government and made to serve them. The idea is that it would develop into a full blown serial like the kind seen in Japanese manga or superhero comics with cliffhangers and big revelations. The irony is that you have this ancient power of the vampire being harnessed by a modern world that is already packed full of technology that is the stuff of sci-fi- so the question is whether the old kind of myth has any place in this world. The BT tower kind of symbolises this, being as is a hub for hi-tec communications, but is anyone really saying anything, and can we really escape into stories any more?

Of course, my art style isn't very good (my British Telecom Tower is cubist, okay!), but then I did learn some Photoshop skills that could be useful if I ever did learn to draw.

UPDATE: Part two should be up early June!
