On The Anniversary of John Lennon's Death

Pulling the plants up by the roots
Leaves the fence with a rotting hole
Comical like a brick wall in a cartoon.
I heard the earth scream.

It was a friend's birthday
I said black people don't do gardening
You said black people had to do our gardening for 300 years
I can see now why they wouldn't want to.
Later on I went to the shop for a jar of mayo.
I had £1.20 in my pocket. It was £1.19. I was lucky.
I saw Zoe and pretended to be holding a can of Pepsi
Because I felt a bit silly, but I can't eat a sandwich without it.

Oh yeah, there was something about John Lennon on the radio.

Thanks a lot Louis Frie!

Thank you Du-wain. I just noticed! I got messages from two people with the same last name!
